Easy Cast Iron Rust Removal!

I scored a record power bandsaw on facebook market place for £100 the table had some light rust but was soon back in shape with the help of an orbital sander. i spayed some clear hard wood finish onto the cast iron bed as an experiment, ideally axminster machine wax would be a good idea. the saw resaws quite well even with an old 6pi blade, i might put a 4 tpi blade in for faster rewsawing, i a...

    The scene of cutting the board at the very beginning of the video is VERY DANGEROUS. You should always have the majority of the board stock on the outside of the blade away from the fence. The small piece being cut off should always be between the blade and the fence.

    I made the same 3/4 inch front panel but used 1/4 inch MDF and 1/2 inch MDF glued together. That way there's no need to route the window. You can jigsaw the 1/4 inch for the rubber surround and don't need to have perfectly smooth cuts as the rubber will be covering it.

    "build a flux capacitor"???? Please tell me that I'm the only one who doesn't have a 3 d printer and laser cutter, Be real and di this with readily available tools, most don't have a budjet for tools like this. And also use the tools correctly

    • @TomHowbridge
      @TomHowbridge 3 роки тому

      Machines only speed up the process to building things, nothing is stopping you from making the parts by hand, you can make the solenoids out of wood with a hole saw and the spark plug covers can be bought online, The acrylic window doesn't need to be a neat cut so it can be cut with a jigsaw, the lightbars only have two visible edges which can be gradually sanded with different grades of sandpaper to produce a polished finish, I'm happy to make any of these parts for you if you so wish to help you alongside your build, making excuses that you don't have the tools will only hinder yourself from completing your projects, try to be creative.

    • @stuffandthings6188
      @stuffandthings6188 3 роки тому

      What tools would you say are acceptable for someone to make things with? Do they need to be ones you personally own? Under a certain price or size maybe? My 3d printer cost less than my router, they are most affordable and take up very little space unlike other tools.

      True, and if you want to be movie accurate Doc Brown used an old 80s Dymo Label maker that had raised letters also a lot cheaper But lets also be real - This entire project is something that people don't just have on hand - Most people (Normal People) do not just have an Oscilloscope , Soldering iron, Electronics parts, Arduino just lying around - In a project like this, when you decide to do this you decide that you're going to put in the effort to make it no matter what it takes, it's not about Budget, IT'S ABOUT FUCKING COOL and the possibility that you MIGHT JUST ACCIDENTALLY send yourself through time :P - If you want to BE REAL and lets look at what that means does BE REAL mean BE POOR AND STAY POOR or does BE REAL mean , PUT SOME EFFORT INTO BETTERING YOUR LIFE AND MAKING SMALL ACHIEVEMENTS THAT LEAD TO BIGGER ONE'S so let's be real BEING REAL is achieving what you set your mind to do but having WHAT IS JUST LYING AROUND is different from person to person. Me, i have 4 oscilloscopes, on of them is $8,000 , 2 soldering irons , 2 Video microscopes and an entire electronics lab with a few thousand parts Now i would argue that most people don't have that just lying around BUT I DO i would also argue that Most electronics guys don't but SOME DO so what does your statement mean anyway ? This isn't How to build a project in 5 mins with common household items IT'S A FLUX CAPACITOR Possibly the furthest thing from ITEMS YOU JUST HAVE LYING AROUND

Then at and 5:15 time stamp you can see the finished cut before the finishing touch. can you tell me the degree of the angle on a table saw to get this shape please? I'm using a 2 and 7/8" x 2 and 7/8" by 3 board I would like to cut to a 6 side by 3 foot board.
