Making tripod quick release plates
Переглядів 8094 роки тому
I have had this heavy tripod a while I bought it quite cheap because it had no quick release plate which is a good way of getting a good tripod cheap, some plates are available online, i could buy one for £15 but i can make my own with a 1/4 20 bolt and some off cuts, you can use plywood if you don't have any acrylic it would work just as well, the added advantage of making your own is that you...

Easy Cast Iron Rust Removal!
Переглядів 5156 років тому
I scored a record power bandsaw on facebook market place for £100 the table had some light rust but was soon back in shape with the help of an orbital sander. i spayed some clear hard wood finish onto the cast iron bed as an experiment, ideally axminster machine wax would be a good idea. the saw resaws quite well even with an old 6pi blade, i might put a 4 tpi blade in for faster rewsawing, i a...

THE WORLD'S FIRST true cordless power hammer
The scene of cutting the board at the very beginning of the video is VERY DANGEROUS. You should always have the majority of the board stock on the outside of the blade away from the fence. The small piece being cut off should always be between the blade and the fence.
How is this a restoration? You basically ruined a classic hammer, and it's not even a good handle fabrication.
nice job
3:46 For those of us keenly observant You can see him thinking to himself .....Steady .....Steady ....Steady ..........THIS IS GONNA BE SO FUCKING COOL .....Steady .....Steady ....Steady :P
Just let me try the laser cutty wood thingy
“Flux capatchittor!” 😅
Where can you find the black bead that got around the edges of the barrel.
Google. "Pinchweld seals" Most commonly used for vehicles.
Now try making one without a fully laden workshop and only basic tools
Pencil
Bellissimo, bel lavoro👍🏻
How long did it take for you to make this
Would have better made of metal. I can see the wood wearing down or splitting.
Freakin insane
Col laser.... Ma dai...
I made the same 3/4 inch front panel but used 1/4 inch MDF and 1/2 inch MDF glued together. That way there's no need to route the window. You can jigsaw the 1/4 inch for the rubber surround and don't need to have perfectly smooth cuts as the rubber will be covering it.

@@TomHowbridge oooooh, lasers! Perhaps sharks with laser beams attached to their heads 🤔I’m currently working on my new garage but when will I finish that I have no idea 😔
@@FireCrowsWorkshop I'm having the same thoughts about this, I only started it April last year 👀
@@TomHowbridge I bet it’ll be worth it in the end!
Nooice!
How to make something simple more complicated to make. At the start of the video I was « dude why building a plastic box with all that wood ? »
Love this. How long Is the pencil and what is the approximate circumference?
Save yourself a lot of anger and just buy one. I made one myself and have only successfully been able to make 1 ring, the first time and since then everyone has broken
Needs commentary :(
Nice build.
Enjoyed the vid
Thanks for you subscribed have returned many thanks

This is NOT a restoration - it is a ruination! Not even close. Just nasty!
MY MAN! Thank you for shairing.
thanks for the sub
Great build! What thickness mdf did you use? Also what radii did you use on the corners and window? Thanks a million!
The main box is 12mm and the door is 18mm the box radius is 25mm radius and the door is 42mm, for more details please take a look at the build article below. Happy building 😎 www.instructables.com/How-to-Build-a-Flux-Capacitor/

@@TomHowbridge Ronald Mallett should’ve made the flux capacitor
I used Woodglut instructions for this and I already did it :)
Lovely toy
"build a flux capacitor"???? Please tell me that I'm the only one who doesn't have a 3 d printer and laser cutter, Be real and di this with readily available tools, most don't have a budjet for tools like this. And also use the tools correctly
Machines only speed up the process to building things, nothing is stopping you from making the parts by hand, you can make the solenoids out of wood with a hole saw and the spark plug covers can be bought online, The acrylic window doesn't need to be a neat cut so it can be cut with a jigsaw, the lightbars only have two visible edges which can be gradually sanded with different grades of sandpaper to produce a polished finish, I'm happy to make any of these parts for you if you so wish to help you alongside your build, making excuses that you don't have the tools will only hinder yourself from completing your projects, try to be creative.
What tools would you say are acceptable for someone to make things with? Do they need to be ones you personally own? Under a certain price or size maybe? My 3d printer cost less than my router, they are most affordable and take up very little space unlike other tools.
True, and if you want to be movie accurate Doc Brown used an old 80s Dymo Label maker that had raised letters also a lot cheaper But lets also be real - This entire project is something that people don't just have on hand - Most people (Normal People) do not just have an Oscilloscope , Soldering iron, Electronics parts, Arduino just lying around - In a project like this, when you decide to do this you decide that you're going to put in the effort to make it no matter what it takes, it's not about Budget, IT'S ABOUT FUCKING COOL and the possibility that you MIGHT JUST ACCIDENTALLY send yourself through time :P - If you want to BE REAL and lets look at what that means does BE REAL mean BE POOR AND STAY POOR or does BE REAL mean , PUT SOME EFFORT INTO BETTERING YOUR LIFE AND MAKING SMALL ACHIEVEMENTS THAT LEAD TO BIGGER ONE'S so let's be real BEING REAL is achieving what you set your mind to do but having WHAT IS JUST LYING AROUND is different from person to person. Me, i have 4 oscilloscopes, on of them is $8,000 , 2 soldering irons , 2 Video microscopes and an entire electronics lab with a few thousand parts Now i would argue that most people don't have that just lying around BUT I DO i would also argue that Most electronics guys don't but SOME DO so what does your statement mean anyway ? This isn't How to build a project in 5 mins with common household items IT'S A FLUX CAPACITOR Possibly the furthest thing from ITEMS YOU JUST HAVE LYING AROUND
I started with Woodprix plans.
Nice build!
Woooooo!!!
At 15 seconds time stamp into this video you can see cutting the angle to make a 6 side piece of wood to make a 6 sided pencil. Then at and 5:15 time stamp you can see the finished cut before the finishing touch. can you tell me the degree of the angle on a table saw to get this shape please? I'm using a 2 and 7/8" x 2 and 7/8" by 3 board I would like to cut to a 6 side by 3 foot board.
It should be about 30 degrees
Very nice mate!
bravo man. good idea. thanks.

Thanks! Hopefully I can keep the regular videos up 👌

Hahaha 😂
You are alive..;-)
I certainly am! More content coming soon hopefully!
That was the tallest building in Hull until it was demolished, now it is the Hull Royal Infirmary.
Great work. I was looking for this exact thing!
This is the second video that shows this trick but neither shows how to attach to a steel rod with set screws!?! Nice pulley, now, how do you attach it?
This was just a pulley that spins on a shaft, you could easily cut a slot with a bigsaw and use it on a keyed shaft though, or even key it will a screw.
@@TomHowbridge I recently made some wooden pulleys to power one of those Chinese leather sewing machines. I glued 2" discs to each side of the pulley and drilled 1/16" holes through the center then drilled corresponding holes in the 8mm shaft to insert finish nail pins. It has worked good so far.
Very good how did you measure it out please?
Tool a bit of trial and error I just kept cutting bits away until it was a comfortable hight
@@TomHowbridge brilliant design over all . Might I ask what’s the edging you use for the sides so you don’t get cut ?
